India's non-profit national body for Karate-do — registered in 2003, working from the grassroots to the Olympic stage.
All Indian Karate Federation is the national body promoting Karate on an amateur basis, working to control and propagate the art of Karate across the whole of India — in rural as well as urban areas, from the grassroots level upward.
Incorporated as a non-profit organisation, AIKF's aim is to promote the art of Karate throughout India at School, College, University and Corporate level — not only as a martial art of self-defense, but as a sport and game in its own right. Karate is now a medal event at the School Games, National Games, SAF Games, Asian Games and Asian Indoor Games.
The Federation organises training camps, seminars and tournaments at national level to promote and develop Karate-do nationwide as a true art and spiritual culture — for physical culture and self-defense alike. We are linked with the International Self Defense Organization (ISDO) to promote Karate as a self-defense technique across India.
AIKF's vision is to explore raw talent and nurture it into world-class Karate players — athletes who can represent India on the international stage, including the Olympics, and secure podium positions.
Every activity of the Federation is directed toward that goal: organising standardised Karate-do competitions officiated to the rules of the World Karate Federation. AIKF held its first national championship in 2003 with just five participating state units. Through the efforts of its board members, the Federation now counts more than 25 state member associations and over 3,000 registered players across India.
